EDWARD HAWES the YOUNGER, SON OF EDWARD HAWES OF DEDHAM, MASSACHUSETTS, CIRCA 1616-1687. Kit #34887 (Hawes of Connecticut) & Kit #32195 (Hawes of Nebraska) match each other. Their most recent common ancestor is Edward Hawes the Younger, son of Edward Hawes of Dedham, Massachusetts, circa 1616-1687. Each descends from one of his two sons, Daniel and Nathaniel Hawes, Sr.. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN BY OUR DNA STUDY AND IS CONFIRMED BY THEIR PAPER FAMILY TREE. Kit #51415 (Hawes of Virginia) first 12-markers match the two descendants of Edward Hawes, of Dedham, Massachusetts.

DANIEL HAWES OF SUFFOLK, ENGLAND, BORN CIRCA 1793 - Kit #27038 (Hawes of Australia), Kit #32196 (Hawes of England) & Kit #34539 (Hawes of England) match each other. They do not connect to the Virginia Hawes line. Their most recent common ancestor is Daniel Hawes of Suffolk County, England, born circa 1793. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN BY OUR DNA STUDY RESULTS AND THEIR CONNECTION TO EACH OTHER IS CONFIRMED BY THEIR PAPER FAMILY TREE.

EDMOND HAWES OF YARMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS (1608-1683). HE WAS KNOW AS EDMOND HAWES THE CUTLER. HIS SON JOHN HAWES MARRIED DESIRE GORHAM. Kit #29097 (Hawes of Maine) and Kit #31275 (Hawes of North Carolina) are descendants of Edmond Hawes the cutler. Their direct line can be traced back to a common ancestor, whom arrived at Plymouth Rock on the Mayflower. Their test samples matched each other. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN BY OUR DNA STUDY RESULTS AND IT IS CONFIRMED BY THEIR PAPER FAMILY TREE. Footnote: Hawes of North Carolina, kit #31275, was admitted to the Mayflower Society based on this match and paper trail documentation.

SAMUEL HAWES I OF COLONIAL VIRGINIA, CIRCA 1704, is not a descendant of Edmond Hawes the cutler, whom came to Massachusetts on the ship James in 1635, and whose only son John Hawes married Desire Gorham. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN BY OUR DNA STUDY RESULTS.

SAMUEL HAWES OF COLONIAL VIRGINIA (CIRCA 1675-1769). Samuel Hawes I is the most distant common ancestor for kits #26874 (Hawes of Texas); #27762 (Hawes of Missouri); #27763 (Hawes of Maryland); #29098 (Hawes of Virginia); #41280 (Hause of Texas); and #48577 (Hawes of California). Samuel Hawes I was born circa 1675, died circa 1769 in Caroline County, Virginia. Each descends from one of Samuel Hawes's two sons; Isaac Hawes, Sr. or Samuel Hawes II. THIS HAS BEEN PROVEN BY OUR DNA STUDY RESULTS AND IT IS CONFIRMED BY THEIR PAPER FAMILY TREE, except for #41280 (Hause of Texas) and #48577 (Hawes of California).

RICHARD HAWES OF DORCHESTER, MASSACHUSETTS, WHOM CAME TO COLONIAL MASSACHUSETTS ON THE SHIP "TRUE LOVE" IN 1635. Kit #35690 (Hawes of New Hampshire) has no matches, but we have results of his 37-marker test. HIS RELATIONSHIP TO RICHARD HAWES OF DORCHESTER IS CONFIRMED BY HIS PAPER FAMILY TREE. It cannot be proved by his DNA test without at least one other male Hawes descendant from this line being tested and matching.

HAWES OF SUFFOLK, ENGLAND. Kit #26877 (Hawes of England), 37-marker results are on file, but there are no Hawes matches at this time.

HAWS OF IDAHO, WITH FAMILY ORIGINS IN THE DEEP SOUTH OF THE UNITED STATES IN THE EIGHTEEN HUNDREDS. Kit #32005 (Haws of Idaho) has Y-DNA results on file, but there are no Hawes matches at this time.

HAWES OF WEST VIRGINIA, WITH FAMILY ORIGINS IDENTIFIED BACK TO THE WAR BETWEEN THE STATES. Kit #31285 (Hawes of West Virginia) has Y-DNA results on file, but there are no Hawes matches at this time. One of his ancestors was a Confederate soldier and Prisoner of War, whom died at Point Lookout, a Yankee prison in Maryland.

HAWS OF OKLAHOMA, WITH NO FAMILY INFORMATION ON FILE. Kit #N17048 (Haws of Oklahoma) has 12-marker results on file, but there are no matches within our study group, at this time.

HAWES OF ILLINOIS, IS BELIEVED TO DESCEND FROM JOHN (1791-1874) & SARAH PHILLIPS (1789-1872) HAWES; JOHN WAS BORN IN MARYLAND; SARAH WAS BORN IN VIRGINIA; BOTH DIED IN LOGAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS. JOHN HAWES OF MARYLAND IS BELIEVED TO BE THE GRANDSON OF PETER HAWES OF GERMANY. Kit #50580 (Hawes of Illinois) has 25-marker results on file. He currently has no matches.
