The Hathaway Y-DNA Project

Our project is open to those possessing the surname:

- Hathway
- Hathaway
- Hatheway
- Hattaway
- or other variant

(NB. Where there is sufficient evidence of a surname change from Hathaway (or variant) to another surname, then these individuals might also be admitted to the project at the discretion of the Hathaway Y-DNA Project Administrator).

Our goals can be summarised as follows:

1. To identify members/branches that are most closely related to each other. 

2. To allow the allow those of confirmed genetic lineages to further explore their shared genealogical heritage in greater details and make further 'paper trail' connections.

3. To confirm genetic relationships postulated by traditional genealogical methods.

4. To identify the likely origin of a 'genetic' family.

5. To study the evolution of the surname from its earliest origins to its present day form
