About us

This DNA Project has been organized for all who wish to work together to find their common heritage through DNA testing and sharing of information. All spelling variations of Hannay, Hannah, Hanna and Hanney are welcome. The picture at the top of the screen is that of Patrick Han(n)ay, who died about 1630, that appears in a book of his poems published in 1622. This picture has the first know published representation of a Hannay crest, with a cross crosslet fitchee and above a crescent. The book was republished by the Hunterian Club in 1875.
