The aim of this project is to use scientific testing of the DNA of as many Haggerty/Hegarty/etc. men and women as possible to clarify the various lines and to explore the interconnection among today's families and their genealogical lines. Known variants of the name (in alphabetical order) include:
Hagarty, Hagerthey, Hagerthy, Hagertie, Hagerty, Haggarthy, Haggarty, Haggertie, Haggerty, Heagerty, Hegerty, Heggarty, Hegity, Higerty, Higirthy
