About us
The aim of this project is two-fold. Initially we wanted to use scientific testing of the Male Y- DNA of as many Haggerty, Haggarty, Hagerty, Hegarty, etc. males as possible to clarify the various lines and to explore the interconnections among today's families and their genealogical lines.
To date those results show that most of these families have a common origin.Having learned that, a secondary aim has been to use Family Finder tests to further clarify relationships. For example, we now know that most of those with Protestant Cork origins are closely enough related for Family Finder to pick up the relationship.
The Family Finder test is for anyone with Hegarty/Haggerty/etc. ancestry, both men and women.
If you think you might learn something from this test please consult the administrator for clarification.
