About us
The Gysi/Gysin family originated in Canton Basel, Switzerland in the 14th Century. The aim of the Gysi project is to identify lineages who are related to the Gysi inhabitants of Canton Basel, Switzerland.
In addition we are joined by members who descend from Geise ancestors of France. Other members have a similar name (Keesey) but are unrelated genetically.
We are concentrating our efforts with the 37-marker Y-DNA paternal test. This test provides a lot more discrimination than the 12 or 25-marker tests (worth the extra cost). Many members have upgraded to the 67 or 111-marker tests for additional information.
