We now have Eighteen members of the project. Seventeen of them have been tested - and we have results for sixteen, so far. They presently live in NJ, CA and FL in the USA, Chorley, Kinoulton, and Fleetwood in England, and Ontario, Canada. The variety of locations makes it even more exciting and we'll try to wait patiently for the results. It would be great to add some of the DEWHURST / DEWHIRST males from Down Under to the group.... OUR NEWEST RESULTS! Because I thought my line of DEWHURSTs should have matched another more closely than it did when I'd had my son's sample checked, I took advantage of the recent sale for new members and also had my husband submit a sample. There had been a slight change between my husband and my son - so that we've now discovered that my husband is an EXACT MATCH on 37 markers with Jana's brother's sample!!! Maybe we are one big, happy family? Certainly the results we've seen at 12 markers suggest that's tru. When 25 markers are compared, they are still pretty close. More differences start to show up at 37 markers, and many of those differences are located at what are considered "fast moving" locations. A few more DEWHURSTs have expressed interest in joining us. PLEASE DO! We now have sixteen member results. Those who match exactly on the first 12 markers are estimated by Family tree DNA to have shared a common ancestor in these percentages 33.57% likely within the last 100 years 55.88% likely within the last 200 years 70.69% likely within the last 300 years 80.53% likely within the last 400 years 87.07% likely within the last 500 years 91.41% likely within the last 600 years So, all we have to do is follow the paper trail back to 1500 and we should find it
