Participants are free to pursue whatever connections they may find using information from the test results. Several with "brick walls" have found connections to other lines which have given them new direction for their research. In another case a suspected adoption many years ago was proven. Even when a participant doesn't find an exact match, the results can be used to eliminate wasted time and resources researching lines that are proven by the DNA results to be unrelated.
