About us
At this time we are attempting to gather as many male DNA signatures on the Clopton surname as possible (this project encourages female autosomal results as well), and, eventually, the related surnames, to help determine both the diversity and the relatedness of the family groups. Since this surname is well documented as far back as the 12th century and even earlier, we believe that DNA studies may help in answering many important historical questions not only about our family heritage but that of East Anglia and possibly even ancient Europe.
