Looking for a deeper understanding of your Clopton heritage? The Clopton DNA project is open to, and designed for any Y-DNA tested male bearing the Clopton-Clapton (or close variant) surname or believed to be an adopted member of the Clopton family (Female Clopton descendants with an FTDNA autosomal test result are also welcome). Results are determined from the male Y chromosome tests and 37 markers or more are encouraged. Those known to be descended from the Clopton name but bearing a different surname (autosomal Family Finder tested) are welcome to join although your results may not appear on the project's website.
