About us

The Clay Family Society Y-DNA Project seeks to:

  1. Identify and compare distinct Clay paternal lines.
  2. Help testers understand where their results fit within broader Clay family research.
  3. Support documentary research by using Y-DNA as evidence, not as a substitute for records.
  4. Encourage strategic testing, including upgrades when they can help clarify important Clay branches.
  5. Build a stronger evidence base for future Clay researchers.
  6. Help connect living Clay descendants who are working on related lines.
  7. Preserve responsible, well-documented Clay genetic genealogy research for the long term.
