Our scientific endeavors have been significant in the genetic genealogy field. Clan Dalton has introduced genetic cousins, previously unknown to each other, across three continents! K.T. Dalton-Mapstone published her proprietary work, Annals of 'The Dalton' in 2001. Dalton's were extracted from translations provided by University College Cork. Our Clan Dalton settlements in Rathconrath, County Westmeath, were scribed as early as 1328 AD, in the Annals of the Four Masters Clan Dalton's genetic signature is unique! It varies radically from the standard Atlantic modal for the British Isles. DYS390 has a slow mutation. Only less than .06%, worldwide, have our allele value of 21 at this marker! A high incidence of the YCAII value at 22-23 is shown to be from glacial epoch migrations. These migrations brought Clan Dalton to the Iberian Peninsula.
