About us

2005 t0 2011  What we can tell now about the four men who are matching, is that they all descend from the same original Caperton ancestor.  That would be John Caperton born about 1725 in Scotland. I say Scotland because John is listed in the book,  "Scottish Immigrants to USA" by Donald Whyte.  George Franklin Caperton has tested for 37 markers and Lee Caperton Anderson has tested for 67 markers. I have found a few Capertons on Facebook.com that live in the UK. So far they have not responded to my request to do a DNA test.

2010  Lee Anderson Caperton has tested for 67 markers now and is a perfect match to Donald, George and Jack.  So we have genetic matches for the cousins!

2010  Frank Whillans has tested a match to Caperton with a couple of marker differences.  He has no Capertons in his ancestry.  Roxenbury, Scotland is his ancestors homeland.  I found Clapperton in Roxenbury, Scotland.  I am wondering is there could be a connection.  We have no Whillans in our ancestry either.

2011 I am finding the Caperton name in 1432 in Kyle Province in Scotland.  A place called Bar Whillan is also nearby.  With the DNA matching sequence, it is thought that there is a genetic distance of 5 between Mr. Whillan and the Capertons.  That indicates a distant connection of over 600 years, about year 1300.
