The 'Bijvoet & Byvoet Family' is a family association with about 60 members with the purpose of genealogical research into the history of our family with surnames as Bijvoet, Bijvoets, Buijvoets, Buyvoets, Byvoets and Byvoet.

Our family has its roots in the 15th century in a small village Pelt on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. In the 16th and 17th century they spread over both countries, mostly as "teuten". Teuten are a sort of peddlers (like Amazon.com today).
