Welcome to the world wide Bennett surname Y-DNA project. This project is open to any MALE with the BENNETT surname. We are primarily focusing on early American Bennett family lines. Many people can trace their Bennett ancestry back to the Revolutionary War but many lines are confused and mixed together prior to that point. One of the goals of this project is to help sort out these various early Bennett families. We hope that over time enough Y-DNA can be collected from verified lines to enable others to determine their line or at least accurately determine which early Bennett family they are from. This will in turn help people focus on an area / family when doing their research instead of trying to research all the early American Bennett families. Another goal is to determine where our ancestors came from before they came to America. So, any and all male Bennetts are welcome to join the project, even those without an American ancestor.
