We learned early in the project that those of us who descend from Reuben Barrett or his brother Arthur (Group 1) have a rather unusual 12 marker haplotype. Only 1% of the members of the Y-Base database have a value of 12 for DYS19, only 10% have 13 for DYS385b, and only 12% have 13 for DYS439.

We have found 12 marker matches (or better) for this group, two men named McAndrew, one named McDonald, two named Grace and one named Pate.
