Background
As many as 15 septs of Quin(n) (O'Quinn) are thought to exist, based on literary and historical sources. Some are thought to have an ancient kinship whilst others reflect independent origins of the surname. Knowing which sept you may originate from ties you into the ancient history of Ireland.
