About us
The purpose of the NETTLES/NETTLE Surname DNA project is to aid and support Nettles/Nettle family researchers by the use of both yDNA and Autosomal DNA testing:
1. Putting families in touch with their genetic cousins
2. Dividing the related and derived surnames into groups of related families to help determine the place of origin for each group
3. Identifying distinct branches of the families belonging to a single group and subbranches within each family
4. Adding to an existing large database of NETTLES (of the USA and derived surnames) lines so that Nettles/Nettle descendants can link into their own line and learn the history of their family
