HEZEKIAH WEST - R1b P312>L21>DF63>BY28644
We have two kits in our project that are direct YDNA descendants of John West>Hezekiah West who served in the Rev. War and then settled in West Eden in Johnson Co. IL near Cypress. Kit 262772 descends via Hezekiah son James. Kit 157855 descends via Hezehiah son Asa. Individual SNPs were tested to locate his SNP branch within Haplogroup R1b. These tests indicate that this WEST family line belongs to DF63, a very small SNP branch just below L21. The descendants of Hezekiah West do not match any other WEST kits at FTDNA. They only match each other at 37 markers, and have very few matches of any surname at the lower marker levels.
We have joined this WEST kit to the R1b DF63 haplogroup project where his SNP test results place him in a small subgroup with other kits from England and Wales. This kit needs to order BIGY in order to establish the precise downstream SNPs for this WEST family line.
BIGY ordered for kit 157855 on Dec. 19, 2017 with free 67>111 upgrade. Jan. 21, 2018 he has no 67 or 111 marker matches of any surname.
2/19/2018 BIGY results have arrived placing WEST in the BY28644 branch of DF63. His BIGY.vcf file has been uploaded to the Data Warehouse for free analysis by Alex Williamson for The Big Tree. His BIGY.vcf file was sent to YFULL for their $49 analysis. His BIGY.bam file was sent to YFULL and the upgraded analysis was completed in June 2018.

BIGY singleton SNP analysis in progress for MCKENZIE kits 26794 & 28868 R1b M222 DF104>A10656>A10659
A BIGY test was ordered for McKenzie kit 28868 Aug. 2017. The BIGY test for kit 28868 has shown that kits 28868 and 26794 formed a new SNP branch for the USA McKenzie family line via A10659. Some of the SNPs originally listed as singletons for kit 26794 are now shared SNPs, and the others are singleton SNPs for each kit. Both have completed the YFULL analysis, and their current singletons have been sent for verification.
The BIGY tests for these two USA McKenzie kits have separated them from the Mckenzie BIGY kit from Inverness, Scotland. Both USA and Scotland family lines are positive for FDF104>A10656. From A10656, the Scottish Mckenzie family line has it's own BIGY singleton SNPs. Both USA and Scottish McKenzie family lines can trace their lineage to approximately 1750, but with no known common ancestors. The USA McKenzie line has solid documentation in Spanish Territory in the 1790s just west of the Mississippi River, near what is now Cape Girardeau, Missouri. A 1780 birth in the area that became Tennessee is claimed in census records, but no documents have been located.
The beauty of BIGY SNP discovery testing is that it creates a family SNP tree. Documents can't place the USA McKenzie line in Scotland, but they do share a SNP branch with the Scottish Mckenzie family line that never left Scotland.
USA McKenzie kits, Scottish Mckenzie kit 251552 and Scottish Frasier kit 294717 share a block of seven SNPs that are unique to these kits and form the A10656 SNP branch downstream from DF104. The 2nd USA BIGY test helped to create their own SNP progression of DF104>A10656>A10659.

The SNP tree would then reflect the fact that they share a common block of SNPs that includes A10656 and then descend into their own sibling SNP branches.
