About us
The main goals of this project are:
1. To use DNA analysis to trace the Doreleyers ancestry beyond our existing records that date back to about the year 1650 AD.
2. To resolve ongoing discussions about where our Dutch ancestors came from prior to the year 1650, the earliest date that the Doreleyers surname appears in The Netherlands.
3. To discover, if possible, where the name Doreleyers came from.
4. To place our ancestry in context of what we know from history books, what countries did they live in and at what time, why did they migrate, etc.
5. To find related people (DNA matches) wherever they may be and try to find out what family branch they are.
6. To document as much as possible for our children.
