Six direct male descendants of Peter Delp/Delph (b. ca 1755, d. bef 11 Dec 1840 in Grayson Co., VA) have participated in the project and have closely matched each other.  This confirms that their DNA is that of their common male ancestor Peter Delp(h), progenitor of the Grayson Co., VA Delp(h) family.  In addition, a German gentleman who descends from Johann Wilhelm Delp (b 4 Feb 1612 Eberstadt,Germany), the progenitor of the Delp family of Germany has participated in the project and matches the Grayson Co., VA Delps.  This confirms that the Grayson Co. Delps descend from Johann Wilhelm Delp as well.  A descendant of Johann Nicholas Delp of Berk Co., PA has tested and matches the German and Peter Delp branches. 

Direct male descendants of other Delp/Delph lines (men possessing the surname Delp or Delph) such as the Conrad Delp family of Culpeper/Madison Co., VA, and the Johann George Delp family of Montgomery Co., PA are needed to confirm that they also descend from Johann Wilhelm Delp of Eberstadt, Germany.  The Delph surname also exists in England.  English Delphs are also needed to determine if they are related to the German Delps.
