This project has been created to bring together participants who share this surname or any variation of this surname. In this way we can determine whether we share the same family lines and therefore ultimately determine where our ancestors came from. Since we had someone from the Barnes family project match our participants, we believe the original name may have been changed to various vatiations but DNA will tell the real story. The creators of this particular surname project are descendants of Isaac (born 1815) and Margaret Mary Nightwine Barnts/Barntz or Barnes (born 1824) in Pennsylvania.
