#232 has a 66/67 match with #34885; the Family Tree DNA Time Predictor (FTDNATiP) for this near perfect match indicates a Common Ancestor Probability (CAP) of 100% within 22 generations. These two Participants had a perfect match at 37 markers and I stated that this “perfect match” provided us a “preliminary” Ancestral Result for the Common Ancestor. Since we now have a single marker mismatch at marker DYS511 we do not have a “confirmed” Ancestral Resu If a 67/67 match can be located the single marker mismatch at DYS511 would indicate a “branch” to the genetic line of descendant. The identity of the Common Ancestor cannot be determined from the current genealogy research provided by these Participants.
#232 has a 65/67 match with #632258, the mismatch occurs on marker DYSCDYa and DYS641, a CAP of 100% within 22 generations. He has a 65/67 match with #B63204, the mismatch occurs on marker DYS458 and DYS641, a CAP of 99.99% within 24 generations. He has a 64/67 match with #122661, the mismatch occurs on marker DYS389-1, DYS389-2 and DYS572; a CAP of 99.99% within 24 generations.
#34885 has a 64/67 match with #122661, their mismatch occurs on marker DYS389-1, DYS389-2, and DYS511; a CAP of 99.94% within 24 generations. He also has a 64/67 match with #B63204, the mismatch occurs on marker DYS458, DYS641 and DYS511, a CAP of 99.99% within 24 generations.
#122661 and #B63204 have a 63/67 match, their mismatch occurs on marker DYS389-1, DYS389-2, DYS458, and DYS641, a CAP of 99.75% within 24 generations.
#632258 and #B63240 have a 65/67 match; their mismatch occurs on marker DYS458 and CDYa, a CAP of 100% within 22 generations. He has a 64/67 match with #34885, the mismatch is on DYSCDYa, DYS458 and DYS511, a CAP of 99.99% within 24 generations. He also has a 64/67 match with #14143, the mismatch is on DYS447, DYSCDYa and DYS641, a CAP of 99.99% within 24 generations. He has a 63/67 match with #580501, the mismatch is on DYS458, DYSCDYa/b, and DYS481, a CAP of 99.99% within 24 generations. He also has a 63/67 match with #122661, the mismatch occurs on markers DYS389-1/2, DYSCDYa and DYS641, a CAP of 99.94% within 24 generations.
The diagram CAG1 on the Photos page is representative of current information and is subject to revision as additional Participants are tested. Ancestors are listed with birth years unless otherwise noted. The DYS marker at the end node determines the Genetic Distance and are the mutations which vary from the Group 1 modal values (#232 matches the modal for 67 markers); these markers may be "branch" markers for the designated lineage. Participants in "red" have identified their oldest Ancestor as "Richard", the same oldest Ancestor as Group 2 Participants. However, DNA results suggest conflicting information with the genealogical research.

Research Note: Participants in this Group have a predicted Haplogroup of R1b1a2. According to Family Tree DNA, “…R1b1 is the most common Haplogroup in European populations.” Because of this fact every Participant with this Haplogroup should test ALL markers, so we have the maximum amount of genetic information for determining close relationships. Current test results show a number of Participants in this Group may not be genetically related within the genealogical time frame of documented surnames. However, there are a few Participants (#53790, #59523, #101252, and #122067) in the Group who are genetically related to each of the unrelated Participants. Perhaps this conundrum will be resolved when more DNA results are available from current Participants or additional documented research is provided. I will keep the current assignment of Participants to this Group until more DNA data is available. According to Family Tree DNA a Genetic Distance of 6 or higher should be interpreted as "Not Related"...their statement..."...the odds greatly favor that you have not shared a common male ancestor with this person within thousands of years."
#53790 tested only 12 markers and has a 12/12 match with #231, #59523, #101252, #122067, #138610, #153375, #159058, #182105, and #184042; a CAP of 91.41% within 24 generations. He has an 11/12 match with #196189 a CAP of 75.09% within 28 generations. He has an 11/12 match with #170405 a CAP of 68.87% within 24 generations. He has an 11/12 match with #42124; a CAP of 67.37% within 24 generations. He also has an 11/12 match with #34209 a CAP of 66.71% within 24 generations The probabilities are different for these 11/12 matches because they occur on different markers with different mutation rates. While #53790 is currently assigned to this Common Ancestor Group he should test ALL markers to confirm a relationship to the Group Participants.
The Lineage provided by #232 and CA Group 2 Participants #53790, #59523, #159058, #184042, #211169 and #211224 shows the Common Ancestor Samuel Stout (1740-1816). #232 descends from Joseph (1773-1839), son of Samuel; #53790 descends from Peter (1763-1831), son of Samuel; #59523 descends from Jacob (1782-1870), son of Samuel; and #159058, #184042, #211169 and #211224 descend from Samuel (1771-1839), son of Samuel. Primary source documentation was not provided by most Participants, however, if secondary sources are accurate the DNA test results indicate that Joseph has C3 lineage, while the other three brothers have R1b1a2 lineage. #232 descends from Hosea (1810-1889), son of Joseph. To confirm the C3 lineage of Joseph, it is important to test males descending from Allen Joseph Stout, brother of Hosea.
#159058 and #211224 have an exact 67/67 match. The nearest Common Ancestor for these two Participants is Ridley Stout (1896-1966). We therefore have the Ancestral Result for Ridley. In addition we can also state that the Ridley line shows one distinctive lineage marker which is different from the Group 2 Modal Value. The Ridley line is currently identified with DYS438d=13 while the Group 2 Modal Value is 12 for this marker.
#184042 has a 66/67 match with #159058 and #211224. These three Participants share the Common Ancestor Thomas Fletcher Bates Stout (1856-1929). There also appears to be a distinctive lineage marker DYS464d=16 for these three descendants. Because this marker is different from the Group 2 Modal Value of 18 this marker is an apparent branch marker for Thomas Fletcher Bates Stout.
#211169 has a 66/67 match with #184042 and a 65/67 match with #159058 and #211224. These four Participants share the Common Ancestor Samuel Stout (1771-1839). This group of four also share the Common Ancestor Samuel Stout (1740-1816) with Participants #53790 and #59523. #53790 descends from Peter (1763-1831), son of Samuel; #59523 descends from Jacob (1782-1870), son of Samuel; and #159058, #184042, #211169 and #211224 descend from Samuel (1771-1839), son of Samuel. These are the only Participants in the Project, with the same Haplotype, who claim a Common Ancestor within seven generations. Participants #53790 and #59523 are encouraged to test ALL markers so we can resolve the Ancestral Result for Samuel (1740-1816) and help clarify the genetic branching within the lineage of the Oldest Ancestor “Richard.”
#251050 is the Projects' first Participant from England and finally provides an English Y-DNA lineage with significant matches to Richard (1615-1705), one of the American Immigrant Ancestors. This Participant tested 67 markers and has the Haplogroup R1b1a2. He has a 66/67 match with #101252; a CAP of 100% within 22 generations. He has a 65/67 match with #211169; a CAP of 99.99% within 25 generations. He has a 65/67 match (Genetic Distance 3) with #184042; a CAP of 99.98% within 28 generations. He has a 64/67 match with #182105 and #220588; a CAP of 99.98% within 28 generations. He has a 63/67 match with #138610; a CAP of 99.92% within 28 generations.
#231 has a 34/37 match with #59523 and #184042; a CAP of 98.74% within 24 generations. He has a 33/37 match with #170405; a CAP of 97.33% within 24 generations. He has a 33/37 match with #159058; a CAP of 96.45% within 24 generations. He has a 33/37 match with #182105; a CAP of 96.28% within 24 generations. According to Family Tree…”If enough time has passed it is possible these group members are distantly related family members. However that would nearly require that each line had passed a separate mutation and one would have experienced 2! The only way to confirm or deny is to test additional family lines and find where the mutation took place. Expressed another way, assume your score puts you at 3 on the clock. Assume the person from you is at the 9 position. Only by further testing can you find the person in between each of you...this in 'betweener' becomes essential for you to find, and in their absence the possibility of a match exists, but further evidence should be pursued.” Genetic Distance results for #34209 indicate he is most likely NOT genetically related to #231, #138610, #170405 and #196189.
