Multiple Deletion Project

About us

The Multiple Deletion Project was created because there was no forum for anyone with multiple deletions to join. Our hope is that this project will bring together all who have results with multiple deletions. Our goal is draw attention to deletions as family markers and to understand how YDNA test results can help and mislead researchers.

How can it mislead?  Multiple deletions are found in Surname Projects that do not match anyone in the Project. This must mean that the person was sired by a surname other than the one being claimed as their MRCA.

Deletions in the Y-37, Y-67, Y-111 tests fall into these alleles.  DYS458, DYS455, DYS454, DYS449, DYS576, DYS570, DYS531, DYS590, DYS425, DYS450, DYS481,DYS520, DYS568, DYS487, DYS522, DYS575, DYS463, DYS525, DYS532. Six are found in Y-37, 8 in Y-67 and five more in Y-111 for a total 8.
If you have multiple deletions, join a unique group in pursuit of understanding what deletions are and how they can be markers showing we are all related.

If you had similar results, join us!
