The goals of the Auerbach Study are as follows:

To demonstrate the validity of the concept of yiches in rabbinic research- that there is a connection between rabbinic Auerbach families and that the stories of yiches handed down throughout generations can be verified.

In addition, to accomplish the following:

1. scientifically link Auerbach families
2. link these families to the rabbinical research
3. attempt to determine a place or places of origin for the families
