FTDNA BACKGROUND PAGE(Updated Dec. 13, 2019)

We arethe Official Worldwide Weech DNA Project for ALL WEECHES.

Ourobjective is to use Y chromosome test samples to construct family groups anddefine lineages. These clusters are further refined using autosomal DNA testresults and family trees provided by our members. We hope to match individualswho share common Weech ancestors and break through researchers’ brick walls.

[1] We recommend ALL MALE WEECHEStake FTDNA's Y-37 test or greater. Y-67 and Y-111 levels of testing are better for determiningmatches within the very common haplogroup R-M269. If you have maternal Weechancestors, try to locate a male Weech relative to take the Y-DNA test.

[2] We kindly request that WeechProject Members submit your direct line PEDIGREE to your most distant verified Weechancestor.  Please include your kitnumber and the URL to any online public family tree you maintain. Email uswith your pedigree to
