The Valle Maggia Ticino Switzerland project is mainlyfor those male Y-dna direct line or MT-dna, that is, Mitochrondrial mother’sline descends from the Valle Maggia in the Swiss Canton of Ticino.  The migrations of the ticinesi (largely male)from the 1850s to Australia and California and finally Argentina, created thebeginnings of an extensive transportation of gene pools to the New Worlds.Nowadays, those descendents of these 19^th and early 20^thcentury migrants are greater in number in foreign lands than they are in theirnative Ticino.
