About us

This project is for R1b men only. (Updated March 2023) The Wars of the Three Kingdoms. Not to be confused with the Chinese Three Kingdoms Wars. Reference books by David Dobson and by J.R. Prendergast. For an overview, see https://www.history.co.uk/articles/a-brief-history-of-the-wars-of-the-three-kingdoms These wars began with the Bishops' Wars of 1639 and 1640 - the Covenanters were part of this. Then came the Irish Rebellion of 1641 - again, also a religious war. At last came The English Civil War of 1642 - a culmination of years of bitter differences between Charles and Parliament, exacerbated by the troubles in Scotland and Ireland. The last major event of the Wars of the Three Kingdoms is considered to be the Battle of Worcester in September 1651, when Cromwell’s forces defeated troops loyal to the executed monarch’s son, Charles II, who fled to the continent.
