The Koso family has so far earliest known roots in the 15th century near the boarder line between Finland and Russia, in Säkkijärvi, Karelia, nowadays Russia but earlier Finland. In the old documentation the name Koso was often written as Kosoi or Koszon or Kåso. Also some took totally new last names when moving to new places or got married.
