Okay I have learned that donations are still possible and that I (as administrator) can apply them as needed to help project members offset the cost of additional testing they may want to undertake. Donations can also be made to the general fund to help other members if you wish. In the interest of being completely open the fund total will always be displayed on our project page. Also, the funds can only be applied to FTDNA tests, etc. As administrator I can not ever access those funds directly... only FTDNA can apply the funds to a designated FTDNA test, etc.

The paragraph below was part of the original creation of this project. For the moment I believe we should put a hold on donations until I learn more about this feature. Actually, I am not yet sure if it is even possible do make donations. I will research this and when I have more information I will post it here.

Donations for tests.

If you would like to get tested but can not afford to pay all at
once and don't want to ask for help, many folks are understandably like
that, you can donate a monthly amount until you are ready. As in any
undertaking of this sort a policy has to be set as to handle things. I
suggest using the following policy and ask for your input and suggestions.
I will keep all accounts and funding confidential unless instructed
otherwise. Just be aware donations are not refundable. I would hate to see
someone get upset because they need their money returned. Any monies that are
left after a year on someones savings will be placed in the general fund.
