Through a DNA match, we were able todetermine that ISAAC STONE was a brother to WILLIAM STONE. William, the oldestson, inherited the family farm, thus connecting him to his father Thomas. Plus, many of his children had the middle name of Pickett, his mother's maiden name.William moved his family to Clay Co., AL in the early 1840s. Isaac moved hisfamily to Wilson Co., TN in the early 1820s. JAMES VINCENT STONE moved hisfamily to Clay Co. AL with his uncle William. Nothing is known of THOMAS STONE,Jr. or CHARLES P. STONE.

NOTE: TheChronicle of William Stone/s-Governor of Maryland, 1648-1654
William M. Stone, the authorof The Chronicle of Thomas Stone of Hamilton Parish in Colonia Virginia, has done it again with his groundbreaking researchin The Chronicle of William Stone/s- Governor of Maryland, 1648-1654.This well-documented early history of the Stones in England and their arrivalin America features never before transcriptions of early wills written inMiddle English and other key historical records that took months for Stone totranscribe. Stone's research on his legacy project corrects earlier historieswith supporting documentation and fills in the gaps, while greatly expandingthe knowledge of the Stone DNA Group 7 from Lancashire, Cheshire and London,England to ColonialVirginia and Maryland.
Thisheirloom-quality book is as important to the Stone history as The Chronicleof Thomas Stone of Hamilton Parish in Colonial Virginia was inunderstanding the family link between the North Carolina, South Carolina andKentucky Stones. The research discoveries provided in this book lead Stoneto a simple conclusion: the preponderance of historical facts both in officialrecords of the Stone family, as well as closely associated families, stronglysuggest that Stone DNA Group 7 is descended from Governor William Stone.
