About us
This project goals are:
1) To help Sproat males (or those who descend from Sproat males through their Y chromosome) share their Y DNA results here in order to connect with those closest to them.
2) Use the data to help define specific branches in the Sproat family who have diverged over the last 700-1000 years.
3) Encourage more Sproat males from different families to test Y DNA.
4) Help us our understand our roots in southern Scotland and the ways we have migrated since.
4) Help to fund or support specific males to have advanced Y SNP testing done (BigY for example) in order to discover the actual genetic connections between each branch and place them into a genetic tree.
