The aim of the project is to map the various Y-DNA lineages of those families who hold the South name and it's variants. The project will identify ancient and newly established regional kinship group's of the name and their respective deep ancestry for the first time. Providing families a face for their direct ancient ancestor's, such as the Ancient Briton/Celts, Romans or Vikings.
