Contrary to what you see on the Internet --- Y-DNA Participants in the Slagle DNA Project in GROUP 01 and GROUP 02 are NOT related.  Their Y-DNA does NOT match --- They could never be related in tens of thousands of years.

GROUP 01 - has 22 participants.  Contact the Slagle DNA Project Administrator, Diane Slagle Sheridan, for more information about GROUP 01.  

All those in GROUP 1 are in Haplogroup E1b -- includes DNA Haplogroups E-M35, E-PF6747, E-BY10600, E-BY11089, E-BY10746 depending on how many Y-DNA markers that you have had tested and when. 

Genealogy research is not surfing the Internet and collecting names and dates of people you know nothing or little about.  One person submits fraudulent information and the rest copy.  This fraudulent lineage then spreads like wild fire and there is no stopping it.

For someone who has done genealogy research for over 47+ years, this has been a nightmare for me.  Thanks for understanding.

Descendants of John Christian SCHLEGEL, 1703 -1766, born Germany, died Berks Co., PA.  NOT the son of Christoph Friedrich SCHLEGEL.

Descendant of Peter SLAGLE, abt. 1752?, d. 1785, Rowan Co., NC., (most likely the son of John Christian SCHLEGEL who had a son Peter).

GROUP 03 - has 2 participants

Descendants of SLAGLE ancestors who lived in Washington & Carter Cos., TN. Their Y-DNA should have matched GROUP 01 - D, but did not.

GROUP 04 - has 3 participants

Descendants of John SLAGLE,1817-1890, m. Mary WATSON, 27 Nov. 1838, Lincoln Co., NC, shortly after moved to Lancaster Co., SC.

GROUP 05 - has 2 participants

Descendants of Jacob SLAGLE, b. bef. 1750, d. 1800, Hampshire Co., [West] VA, m. Hannah BURRELL.

GROUP 06 - has 5 participants

Descendants of four (4) sons of John SLAGLE, b. 1787/1792, Shenandoah Co., VA, enlisted War of 1812, Washington Co., VA, m. Elizabeth WISEMAN, Monroe Co., [West] Virginia, d. 1847, Gallia Co., OH. The four (4) sons are John Slagle Jr., James Watts Slagle. Samuel Slagle, George Slagle.  Y-DNA testing has proved that John SLAGLE of Gallia Co., OH, was not the son of Henry SLAGLE who married Christina KELCHNER /KELTNER in 1786, Shenandoah Co., VA.  The participants Y-DNA matches that of the KINGARY/GINGERICH family of Shenandoah Co., VA (1783 & 1785 tax lists) and neighbors of the KELCHNER/ KELTNER family. 

GROUP 07 - has 2 participants

Descendants of SCHLEGEL /SCHLAGEL of  Pobochnoye, Russia (Volga region). All the SCHLEGELS /SCHLAGELS in this village descend from Franz SCHLEGEL, Sr., a settler from Darmstadt, Germany.

Descendant of Wilhelm SCHLEGEL 1833 - 1890, from Ravolzhausen, Hesse, Germany.
