About us
The goal of the SEEGER - SEGER Surname Project is to distinguish between SEEGER - SEGER ancestral lines, worldwide including their variants. Any reasonable spelling variant is included (please feel free to suggest a variant you feel that needs to be added).
Please note that, at the outset, it makes sense to "cast the net widely". As the number of individuals that are tested increases, various lines will become better defined with the patterns of the SEEGER-SEGER Y-Chromosome DNA emerging. Currently, I do not recommend splitting-up the SEEGER-SEGER project this early because I have a feeling we are in for some surprises within regards to where our branches and divisions belong. We already have two Haplogroup R1a and R1b. We also do not have enough data on hand to see a clear definition of the different branches. The different branches are beginning to form and different Y-DNA sub-groups have begun to emerge. As we have more matching Y-DNA individuals, we can compare their resulting lineages and this might give us a better handle on the branches and divisions of the lineages. Our goal is to get more Seger members tested.
Please note, that, to participate meaningfully, you will need to share your male direct-line ancestry within our project either in the form of a pedigree done on-line or by sending family group sheets to the project administrator. Please see this page for suggestions on how to submit your family pedigree on line:

If you need assistance or do not know your lineage back four generations from you, please contact the Seeger-Seger project administrator via email for assistance.
