About us

Current information in the project indicates that there are at least 22 Sawyer families who are not related to each other since surnames came into use. There are two large Sawyer families in the United States and they are represented in this project by Group 1 and Group 2. Group 1 appears to be descended from Thomas Sawyer (1616-1706) who immigrated sometime in the 1630's to Massachusetts. Group 2 appears to have immigrated to Virginia or North Carolina sometime in the 1600's. The SNP Mutation History Tree shows how the different groups are related. You can download the PDF file from Google Drive here. This file is formatted to fit 11x17 paper. If you size to fit on 8 1/2x11 the print will be very small.

The Group Trees show family trees of group members and how they are related. These are also pdf files that are formatted for 11x17 paper.

The Group 1 Tree can be downloaded here.

The Group 2 Tree can be downloaded here.

The Group B Tree can be downloaded here.
