The Savages of Colonial Surry Co., VA Y-DNA Project is for Savage, Savidge, and other spelling variations. The FOCUS of this project is the utilization of Y-DNA and advanced Haplogroup SNP tests for men, BORN WITH THE SURNAME SAVAGE, to identify individual family lines and establish matches. Autosomal DNA is not a main focus of this project but will be utilized where possible. In your JOIN REQUEST for the "Tell us what you know..." section - Please tell us which test you ordered, or plan to order. You must also provide the full name of your earliest DOCUMENTED male Savage ancestor, with his date and place of birth/death. Provide the same information for each male generation down to your Savage great-grandparent. By requesting to join this project you agree to provide the project administrators with documentary proof of your Savage lineage. Y-DNA STR and SNP results and some of your earliest direct line ancestor information may be posted on public pages. Testee names will not be posted on public pages.
