About us

ROWE, ROW, ROE, ROHE, ROEHE, and any other reasonable spelling variations are welcome to join the project. Only males have Y-chromosomes, so only male ROWE/etc. can participate in the Y-DNA surname based section of this project. If you are female, and wish to find where your ROWE line "fits", you can have a male ROWE/etc. relative submit a sample for your line. To participate meaningfully, testees will need to share their direct male line ancestry back to the earliest known ROWE/etc., as a pedigree (excluding living persons). The rest of us with ROWE (etc) ancestry but lacking a Y chromosome may participate via FamilyFinder (great for back to say 4-6 generations over all of your ancestry), or less usefully for genealogical timeframes, mtDNA.
