About us

The first goal was to test as many male descendants of Roger Amadowne to contribute and hence validate the family genealogy to date.  The second goal was to expand our search for the origin of Roger.  The two most likely countries of origin are France and England.  The project has now expanded to investigate the Haplogroup I-Y7282, which formed about the year 300 AD.  The working theory is that this line originated in Scandinavia and migrated to Normandy as part of the Viking raids, circa 900 AD, and then to England as part of the Norman Conquest circa 1100 AD.
