About us

The R-S20123 DNA Project is a Big Y study for a specific Park(e)(s) family with roots in Scotland and the North of Ireland (Ulster) which has the SNP R-S20123.  Several of the participants have Park(e)(s) lineages that migrated to North American during the early 18th century. The SNP R-S20123 is representative of the ancestor in common to all of the participants in this study. The man with the SNP mutation R-S20123 may have been born about 1500 based upon FTDNA estimates. Our project goal is to analyze and compare our SNP test results to our documented lineages which currently extend back to the late 17th century in County Antrim, Ireland and Ayrshire, Scotland.
