To determine whether the descendants of the Jews of Przedborz share a few common ancestors at some time in the relatively recent past (i.e., 300-500 years). I am also including families from nearby towns such as Opoczno, Konskie, Radomsko, Koniecpol, Czestachowa, etc, especially those that also show up in Przedborz.
The two groups of people I would be interested in joining the study are men whose paternal line (father's father's father's father etc) is from Przedborz or women and men whose maternal line is from Przedborz (mother's mother's mother, etc). The first group can take the Y-DNA test, and the second can take the mt-DNA test.
Alternatively, if you don't know your family origin but your surname origins match one of the more unusual of those listed here, its quite possible you are related to one of those families.
You should consider getting the appropriate test and joining the group.
