About us
This is a project to trace the common ancestry of Jewish familes from the town of Przedborz, Poland and surrounding towns. Other surrounding towns are: Opoczno, Konskie, Checiny, Radom, Radomsko, Wloszczowa, Koniecpol, Kielce, Czestochowa, Piotrkow Trybunalski, and other smaller shtetls.
In my research, I have noticed that many familes married into each other for generations, and thus I suspect common ancestry for a large percentage of the descendants of people from the town.
This project can use genetic information from both women and men, keeping in mind that Y-DNA information only traces your direct paternal line (father's father's father,etc.), and Mt-dna traces your direct maternal line (mother's mother's mother, etc).

Blumenzon,Weigensberg,Checinski, Kupferminc, Gotesman, Wiszinski, Bimka, Fischoff, Zilverberg, Weltfreid, Gancarski, Buchstrajber
and many more! We have not yet found clearly related members, but please add to the study and consider upgrading your YDNA or MTDNA test. R1a appears to be the most common haplotype among the men tested.
