The Pipkin Y-DNA Project was established
26 May 2006.
THE PROJECT IS OPEN TO ANY MALE WITH THE SURNAME OF PIPKIN (or a spelling variation) ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: GREAT BRITAIN, IRELAND, CANADA, AUSTRALIA and THE UNITED STATES.
The initial focus of the project was on descendants (and possible descendants) of John Pipkin who died in Chowan County, North Carolina, USA about 1745. Although they are still an important part of the project, we welcome any Pipkin (all spelling variations) into the project.

The Association was created in 1963 by Horace Earl Pipkin. From its inception, Col. William Philip Pipkin was the Editor until his death in 1996. The membership was made up of descendants of John Pipkin who died in Chowan County, North Carolina, USA leaving a will in 1745. Membership included four newsletters per year about our early Pipkin ancestors and those of us who are descended from this North Carolina family.
