About us
This Project is in the beginning stages. We hope to identify connections between members of various Pettus/Pettit family lines. We will look for connections in genealogical time and will look for information on our deep ancestry. We began actively recruiting participants in February 2014.
We are looking at DNA matches between Pettus/Pettit descendants. We are comparing Y-DNA matches between direct male descendants. We are also looking at autosomal DNA matches of Pettus/Pettit descendants.
We invite all Pettus/Pettit descendants to do DNA testing and to join the project. We encourage all participants to load a gedcom file or complete the family tree on your Home Page. It is also very important that you list Pettus as a surname. This can be done under the Genealogy tab of your personal settings on your account.
