This Project is in the beginning stages. We hope to identify connections between members of various Pettus family lines. We will look for connections in genealogical time and will look for information on our deep ancestry. We invite all Pettus males to join the Pettus DNA Project and to do Y-DNA testing. For the Project administrators to identify different Pettus family lines, we will need to know your Pettus lineage as far back as possible. We encourage Pettus descendants to also do autosomal DNA testing. We are looking for matching chromosome segments from our common Pettus ancestors. In order to identify common Pettus ancestors, it is important to share you lineage on all lines with the Project administrators. We will need to identify all common ancestors to identify the source of the shared DNA segments.
