The goal of the PAXTON surname project is to distinguish between ancestral lines worldwide. 

Any reasonable variant in spelling is included as we hope to determine whether these variations all go back to a common ancestor or whether they are distinctly different surnames. 

Our primary focus is on the Y-DNA. In order for the project to succeed, it is important for participants to share their male direct line ancestry in the form of a pedigree. All pedigrees submitted will be posted on the site.
