Just uploaded my DNA. Matthew Ousley - Son of Michael R Ousley - Son of Carl R Ousley - Son of Walter W Ousley - Son of Joseph M Ousley - Son of Elijah B Ousley - Son of Robert Noble Owsley - Son of John Owsley II - Son of John Owsley. Interesting Note: 0% Irish was found on my DNA which one would suspect me of having at some point with it being so prevalent in the Ousley DNA. It was also found that I am 71% English.

Hello, I've just joined the group! I'm an Owsley descendant through Ann Owsley and Edward Garrett. My mtDNA results are not in yet although my autosomal results are available. Looking forward to learning more about the Owsley history.

the kit that i manage (779388) has a very close match to the family of Bill Conley (1895-1962) & Dovie Cox (1897-1983). Anyone have a detailed tree with this family?

@Floyd Owsley, I was looking through all of my Ancestry kits because of a match to my father who had Deming surname in their tree. So I decided to look through all of the kits that have a connection to my father. You have a whole lot of matches that come from the 1st Deming families of Whetersfield , CT. How do they fit in with the Owsley lines? Were they in CT also? Or they could have been connected before coming to America. https://archive.org/stream/genealogydescen00demigoog/genealogydescen00demigoog_djvu.txt

I am from the Housley family of South Saint Paul Minnesota who's most famous member is Phil Housley who played in the NHL for many years and was the leading American Born scorer until Mike Modano passed him.

Phil Housley is a direct male descendant of Joseph Owsley (Ousley, Housley) and Phoebe Longmire. We already have seven direct male descendants of Joseph Owsley who have completed Y-DNA testing. All match very closely with each other and have been placed in Group #2 on the Y-DNA results page. If James Housley was your biological father, I wonder why your Y-DNA results do not match closely with the other members of Group #2 of our Owsley Project. Of course, James Housley or someone else in his Housley family line could have been adopted.

I also recommend that any male sees an electro-cardiologist and have a c2/c4 genetic test done as many of these Housleys have it which can lead to and has led to sudden cardiac arrest.

My father received a request to join this group as he is a descendent of the Ousley clan. The email used to access this account is mine as his oldest child and daughter. I began this quest while searching for my father's ancestry on Ancestry.com. However, in March 2016 my father passed away unexpectedly. I am still trying to carry on the research for him and will be continuing the research into his family history.

If only there were more people like you with that sort of commitment. I'm very sorry for your loss.
