The OSTERTAG Family Project seeks to find common heritage through sharing of information and DNA testing. Any variant spellings are welcome. Please visit our website and add your family to the Patriarch Page.
The English translation of our name is Easterday.
All those with names beginning with Oster or Easter who cannot find an exact surname DNA project for their surname are welcome to join.
Male OSTERTAGs, OSTERs, EASTERs, EASTERDAYs and all other variant spellings of OSTER are cordially invited to be test participants. Please note, however, that a direct test participant must ALWAYS be a MALE who either (1) descends in an unbroken male-to-male line from a OSTER-surnamed male ancestor (including variant spellings of the OSTER surname) or who (2) has reason to believe he descends from such an ancestor.
(Females don't carry the type of DNA needed for testing in this or any other surname-tracing study. On the other hand, we're proud to have many female project members who have recruited male relatives for testing.)
