About us
1) To use Y-DNA testing to reveal the genealogical lineage sequences of O'Leary/Leary men, and surname variants, and then to compare those lineages
and see & group who is meaningfully related (since surname adoption 850 AD at the earliest) and make separate lineages for who is not. Before strict father-son
surname inheritance became not only common but mandatory, non-cousins adopted the surname to show group membership; so we now have 22 unrelated lines and counting.
2) To archive known pedigrees, in the project 'Results' section, for consultation.
3) To facilitate project members who are not O'Leary/Leary men discovering which O'Leary/Leary lineage they belong to by means of an autosomal DNA test;
either FTDNA's 'Family Finder' autosomal test or a free transfer from another testing company; AncestryDNA, 23&Me, MyHeritage.
4) Align our results and conclusions with the following haplogroup, tuath, and region DNA projects: Munster Irish, Corca Laidhe, R-L21 South Irish, Eoganacht Septs.
