About us

This county's most famous inhabitant was Thomas Jefferson, who built his estate home, Monticello, in the county.  But I'm hoping to get the descendants of the every day citizens that inhabited the county from the early years up through modern times.  So if you had a relative that was born, lived, married, had children or died in this county, please feel free to join this group.

You must show a family member that is known to have lived in Old Albemarle county, the period of time they lived in the county and their surname.
An example of what is needed to join our group:

David Ferguson Enecks b. 1738 Goochland Co., VA d. 1799 Amherst Co., VA
David Enix b. 1765 Amherst Co., VA d. bet 1810-1812 Nelson Co., VA
David F. Enix b. 1795 Amherst Co., VA d. 1854 crossing MS River

This family is shown in 4 different counties, but actually lived in the same area for decades.
